The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio will provide a presentation on April 7 about energy choices.

The presentation will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, 2155 Reynoldsburg-Baltimore Road, Baltimore.

Erin MacLellan, from the PUCO’s Office of Retail Competition, will discuss consumer rights in choosing an electricity or natural gas supplier. Energy choice in Ohio allows consumers of investor-owned utilities to have greater control over their electric and natural gas options and might result in valuable consumer savings.

Topics covered will include: what energy choice is, who the suppliers are, what government aggregation means, what to consider when shopping for an electric or natural gas supplier, and how to use the free tools through the PUCO’s website, such as the Apples to Apples charts, to compare energy offers.
