The Courier-Post announced today that Glassboro residents will get an electricity discount this summer through a partnership between the borough and a third-party electricity supplier.
Borough council’s agreement with TriEagle, an energy supplier for Atlantic City Electricity, results in a 12 percent electricity discount for residents between June and September.
When the Board of Public Utilities rates are announced for the winter, residents will only stay with TriEagle if its rate is at least 10 percent lower than Atlantic City Electric’s rate.
TriEagle will handle the switch, but service calls and bill questions will be handled by Atlantic City Electric. Bills will be from Atlantic City Electric.
Local residents do have the right to opt out of the program.
